Planning submitted for new Middlebeck primary school

Planning permission has now been sought for the primary school which will be built in Newark’s new neighbourhood of Middlebeck. Timescales on the planning process are currently under review given the Covid-19 restrictions and the impact on decision-making within the Council but work is underway to appoint a contractor for the school to begin works once planning permission is given.

The building is designed as a two and a half form entry school although only one form of classrooms will be built initially. It will be home to the existing Christ Church Infant School in Newark  who will grow into the school each year from Reception to Year 6.
